FSAE anyone?

Recommended Posts

So, I go to Friday lunch with the guys at work, for a going away deal for one of the guys, a few weeks ago. We're bullshitting over a beer or so at lunch and start talking about racing...cause, well we're guys... :fu:

One of the guys says, "ya, I got this racecar from school n' stuff"

I'm like, "What? Details man...details"

Turns out he drove the UW's FSAE cars for a couple years, while going to school. He was able to make a donation to the school when he graduated and as a thank you gift, he got the car. It has a few issues though, which he couldn't handle.

He offered rides if I could help him make it run :D

Weighs about 500lbs or so. Powered by a Honda CBR 600 4 cylinder. Sit's about 2" of the ground. Wilwood disc brakes, custom rack and pinion, 4-point harness....Pure

I'll take pic's of the progress tomorrow...

Man, I wish Chico State had FSAE! I was at the west coast one last year as a spectator and was really impressed by the level of fabrication and innovation of some of the teams. Some of them were a little iffy though...bird poop welds anybody?

No booty fab on this car...

I got it wired up to run. Turns over but no spark. Turns out the cam ring the school used is a modified version of the stock cam ring and it won't work with the bike ecu. I have an unmodified cam ring to put on the car so hopefully fire will be forthcoming.

Took a bunch of pic's while cleaning up the garage last night. Enjoy :D
