hollywood7600
Where can I buy an o-ring for my 521 fuel tank? Can I go buy one at a parts store or does it need to be on ebay? Quote Link to comment
gene knight
i think you may have to go to new datsun parts.com that is where i got mine from or go to rockauto.com Where can I buy an o-ring for my 521 fuel tank? datzenmike
The 521 doesn't use a 'rubber' 'O' ring does it??? More like a soft leathery washer. Try dealer or get some Viton plastic the same thickness and cut your own. Possibly a real 'O' ring could be fitted but it must be neoprene or gasoline resistant. Quote Link to comment
hollywood7600
I tried to order parts from rock auto but for a 37 cent oil pump gasket they wanted almost $18.00 for shipping. This was rediculous, but I guess I might have order buy the bulk to get a better price. Quote Link to comment

Man up and make your own. You need gasket material, pencil, scissors and a pair of these for punching out small internal curves and holes. (dollar store) Get used to it. Quote Link to comment
dat521gatherer
Somewhere similar to Tacoma screw. Industrial hardware store. Some auto stores will have large o-rings behind the counter in a tray or bin. Quote Link to comment
hollywood7600
Thanks, I might just use silicone from autozone for this, it might just be faster and easier. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Well put it on and let dry thoroughly or you will be gluing the sender on permanently. Check that that stuff in impervious to gasoline. Quote Link to comment
Rocket Dog
I bought gasket material from O'Reilly, it's this blue paper-like stuff that's about the same thickness as the cork-like o ring. Quote Link to comment
