Well I pulled the trans and the car has a brand new valeo clutch but! It is covered in gear oil!

The front trans seal was as hard as a rock look how nasty the bell housing was.

Now I can't decide if I want to use the napa pressure plate or clean up the veleo pressure plate and use it with the napa disc. Since the valeo disc is soaked with gear oil.

what tranny you have?

When this happen to my 521 about 5 months ago I bought all the last 4 front seals from nissan ,what they told me.

my 521/510 4 speed is the same as the 200sx 77-79 seals.

rock auto does have a listing for 3 front seals.

best to get a caliper and pull the seal intack if poosible and measure.

I would just get a new disc.

paper sand the friction ressureplate & on the flywheel surface

I got some spare Asco(asin) disks from importrp.com cheaper than the Daikens but still made in Japan. the veleos are Korean what I remember but be honest they look good also

Oh man I just replaced mine with a new Valeo (works great!) but didn't realize the oil came from the front seal. I thought it was excessive grease from the prior install...

new valeo disc vs grease-fouled disc

It never slipped, but it was grabby, never smooth.

I just put the whole clutch kit in. I all ready had it.

The napa pressure plate takes less foot pressure to engage the clutch. I am guessing the valeo pressure plate has more clamping force.

It is so nice to be able to accelerate in 3rd and 4th with out the clutch slipping.

Ggzilla yours might be greese mine was a mix of greese and gear oil. The seal was rock hard and letting oil creep up the input shaft as it spun and filled up the throw out bearing and sleeve with gear oil and flung it every where.
