Lay money it isnt .510' lift. The inner spring must be smashed!!!!!!!

 

this can work if the head was machined to lower the seat height.

To give less spring compression in the steady state.

 

I'm just going off of what is engraved in the front of the cam. It reads "Cal Cams .510" That's all I know.

Smallblock Ford keepers will raise the retainer a bit, and give you a little more room for lift. I tried .490 lift with stock springs many years ago, ( I was broke) and never got anywhere near 7200 rpm without floating. More like 5500 to 6000. I dont think stock springs are meant to control that much lift.
