I just need to know which alt to put on the wifes truck 1973 620 L20 she wants different dash lights and a stereo her alt went out and I might be able to build a bracket but dont see it happening for some time for the gm 1 wire i just need to know what is best for amps and instilation WELL and the easiest I cant spell or learn from a book i drive a log truck so if there is a problem with that just replie nice dont bash wont do any good and i am to old to care or take typeing classes thanks all jimmy dale Quote Link to comment

DanielC Posted May 28, 2011 Report Share Posted May 28, 2011 I do not know about 620 trucks, but on the 521, the voltage regulator has some black wires attached to a lug, that is under the voltage regulator mounting bolt. THESE BLACK WIRES MUST STAY ATTACHED TO THE BODY OF THE TRUCK! Quote Link to comment
