bed swap pain

So I was trying to swap my bed and ran into a issue...

My old bed had a cut out for the tank.... this one doesn't. Wtf?? So it looks like I need to cut a tunnel for the tank. No biggie. Cept I don't have the ability or the knoledge how... would anyone be willing to help a fellow ratsuner out?? I can supply beer or monies in return.

'79's gas tanks bolt to the frame and earlier ones bolt to the box. Or maybe '78?

looks like you need to grab the notched crossmember from your old box and swap it onto your new box, easier said than done I know.

Haha, i dont have time to come to eugene, i still have to find some time to get to Rustinas house on a day he is home. You're welcome to drive to my house in seaside and well cut it/weld it. But make sure its on a day its sunny, i dont have a garage and im not welding in the rain :D

If I can't find something a little closer I will totaly head up! Kind of a long drive tho. Anyone a little closer? Lol not trying yo be picky but I can't really bolt it down very well and a drive that far might be a lil sketchy

Grab an angle grinder/cutoff wheel and cut the part out. Bolt it down, drive up and get welded. I just picked one up for $17 from Harbor Freight.

I drove from seaside to Eugene to pickup some parts from Skunk. It is a bit of a drive.
