wont start?

hey iam helping a lady get a 620 going.i have power to every thing.when i pull the plug wire and hold itnear a groung i get 1 big spark and then it gets really weak.the lady has replaced just about every thing connected to the coil and dist. the plugs look good. I am lost! it has new voltage regulator , cap,coil,points,wires,condencers.Shes getting ready to sell it and would like to have it running.will someone help or buy this truck its sweet little truck baby blue sitting on wirewheels.

see if gas is being squirted in the carb

 

maybe swap spark plugs. Ck mak sure its Counter clock wise 1 3 4 2 fire order,some people put the plug wire back on wrong.

as for the spark ,long as its a snapping type spark I would say its good.

 

ask if it was taking apart otherwise things could not be lined up correctly. If it was never taken apart then just look at the ignition parts and car and valve lash and the timming,I would think.

 

also Make sure the HOT Start wire is hooked up to the + side of coil or is Y spliced.

Get a volt meter and see if the Wire gets 12volt on START position otherwise the coil is not getting FULL voltage(assumming this is a POINT distributor ans using a Ballast resisitor

check for corroded connections, esp for the dizzy.

it gets gas checked firing order.and i will check the valve lash and see . and yes its for sale still and i can get it for 1200 she wants more but through me i can get a better deal the company i work for just built a building for her.

not with her some one did that and she laughed and:fu:, threw it away.she pretty set on the price i even tried to trade out some framing work and she passed.she remodeling the house and has to pay for a building we built to the tune of 45,000:eek: 60x144 arena so she wont dicker with the price I have tried before she asked me if too get i started

Well If she wants $1200/1500 for a truck NOT RUNNING then let her sell it.

Believe me another one will come up for sale.

 

tell her if its running Ill buy it. Let her spend the money to get it running .

Sounds like this lady has no concept about what something is worth, just sees how much she wants and thinks it is worth it.

 

I would not spend another minute on that truck unless you feel like it is worth fixing....you should consider what it is worth to you. :D

If this was my truck I would put the effort in.....but you say this is her truck not yours, and you are the one putting in the effort.

 

Just an observation....It is not a bad thing to be a nice guy, just don't let yourself get used.;) The world needs more like you!
