jon521
with my recent purchase of 71 521, the carb needs to be rebuilt. I was just wondering if there is anything i should know about the stock carbs, if they are worth rebuilding or if they are just no good? I do have a holley/weber 32/36 that needs to be rebuilt and rejetted that i was going to put on once i had some more money. its going to be cheaper to rebuild the my stock one, but i dont want to spend the money if its going to go bad again. so any advice helps! dat77sun
i wouldnt rebuild the stock carb, there junk, and with the weber there cheaper and give you more power and better throttle response Quote Link to comment
jon521
Oh ya? So even if I rebuild it, its still no good? Quote Link to comment
DanielC
The stock carb is not junk. They are really complicated, so it is hard to rebuild them right. A major issue with a stock carb. is its age. If the throttle shaft is worn out, you probably will be better off with a new carb. Quote Link to comment
