I think once it reaches the Nissan or Head Stamp it's enough.

when I seent them start cuting in to the A87 on bottom then I be wary. Or have alot of head saver shims.

Cut as much as you like, but....

 

The compression will go way up

The timing chain will become slack. This will advance the can timing if not adjusted... or if it even can be adjusted.

 

 

Factory head thickness from the valve cover to the block mating surface is 4.248" , anything less is what has been shaved off.

its been shaved, its just a matter of what precautions need to be taken if I'm putting a head, condition unknown onto a block. okay, so if shaved = higher compression but what do I need to watch out for/run with it?

 

I'm used to stock stuff.

its the 219 that was f/s the other day. are the valves supposed to stick out like that? :o

Did you get anywhere with this head? I have one that is shaved slightly more than yours but less than that A87 and am hoping it can be used again.
