Cahoon520
The gm 3800 sc is a transversely mounted engine. I have seen a 3.8 buick in a 620 before it needed a custom header to clear the the steering. I have never seen a rwd 3800 sc. Quote Link to comment
bob72gts
My620 roadster has a carb'd 3.8 Buick with TH350 Hooker Headers and fiberglass firewall. Kind of a pain in the ass and don't run like I think it should. Quote Link to comment
herculesinwyoming
the 3800 from the camero bolts right up to the jeep tranny, and the supercharger from the fwd will bolt on to the rwd block. smaller pulley on the supercharger, and some airflow work on the heads = fun. but im sure the fun don't come cheap jeep cherokee and trucks from mid 80's to 90's used the gm 2.5 iron duke engine, and the bolt pattern carries over to the gm v6's Quote Link to comment

I believe the Chevy S10 tranny will bolt to the newer 3800 transverse motor. Quote Link to comment
erichwaslike
its entierly possible, imn doing the swap into my samurai. i used the 3800sc out of an h body park avenue. the blocks are the same for fwd and rwd. the belhousing u need is off a 85-86 2.8l camaro, then the clutch out of a jeep cj that has the smaller dia. and teh t5 out of a cj with the dana 300 to do 4x4 as i am, if u want a 2wd then just use the camaro t5 from a 3800 car and use any 3800 motor. i included a link to my build thread on it on another forum. if u can source one id get the sc off fords 3.8 tbird and use it. its a m90 just like the 3800 but it has a rwd intake tube setup and if u flip it boost outlet down and make an adapter like i am it is easier than trying to make the pontiac sc work http://www.3800tech....hread.php?t=689 http://www.3800tech.net/showthread.php?t=1112 http://www.3800tech.net/showthread.php?t=1103 Quote Link to comment
