erichwaslike
i know the r motor and h motor are basically the same thing and read online in an old nissan racing parts catalog that the h20 crank is considered a stroker for the r16. does anyone know if it is a drop in replacement or is there any machining that needs to be done to it or the block? would i need shorter rods due to the longer stroke? datsunaholic
Shorter rods, definitely. Dunno the rest, though it's a known swap. Quote Link to comment

FoxyRoadster
http://www.311s.org/pmwiki-311/pmwiki.php?n=TechSection.Engine The wiki on 311s has quite a bit of info on the strokers, if it doesnt have all you need you might try the forum. Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
From 1997 Nissan Motorsports Catalog page 30: Changing the stroke on the R16 5-main engine [from engine # 4001] from 66.8 mm/3.27" will increase total displacement to 1982 cc's. Requires U20 connecting rods [12100-25500] You need 12200-E0700 R16 Stroker Crank 1 ea 12100-25500 U20 Connecting Rod 4 ea and of course 12109-25550 U20 Connecting Rob Bolt NLA 12113-25500 U20 Connecting Rod Nut 8 ea. Bottom line Yes for metric 5 main bearing block, good luck on the stretch bolts for the connecting rods. Based on U20, not H20 [officially at least] No mention of relieving the piston skirts, so take that for what it's worth. Quote Link to comment
