bluemeanie
There are a lot of jobs here in vancouver. I cant say what its like up in Seattle, but the jobs here are good. I just love the benifit of living so close to oregon for the lack of sales tax on big purchases, and not paying state income tax here in washington. Quote Link to comment
Velvetpants57
well in kitsap county there is the clear water casino which i work at. its not bad i guess and i am sure they are looking for a sue. as far as welding shops there are several on the peninsula and your best bet would be working on the military base in the welding shop. i believe its shop 92. Guest DatsuNoob
Boeing's hiring until around June/July of this year. Looking for Assembly Mechanics and Electricians, dont know about welders though. Anyone can apply online and they usually contact everyone who applies to schedule Pre-employment training. ]2eDeYe
Tulalip Casino is one of the largest casinos around and Arlington/Smokey point has fab shops all over looking for welders, Boeing has got all of them busting at the seams with work... Check out HCI Steel buildings and SteelFab for welding work....(those are just a couple I've seen help wanted signs at in Arlington) Quote Link to comment
jesusno2
so where would you guys recomend a good place to live thats close to big city's? I've been to washington many times but never really payed attention to citys. It's always been just a straight blast to seattle and back or wherever we were going. Quote Link to comment
Guest DatsuNoob
Pretty much boils down to housing budget and whether you want to live in a semi-rural area or a more urban atmosphere. If you dont wanna live in "the hood" stay outta SeaTac/Federal Way area (South of Seattle) Sorry Kevin, had to be said . Same's true with White Center and some of Renton. If you dont want to live around a bunch of yuppies stay away from the Eastside/Bellevue/Kirkland?Redmond area. Quote Link to comment
Velvetpants57
i say kitsap county. it a 30 minute boat ride from bainbridge to seattle. and the housing prices are much less than the city Quote Link to comment
gen4maxima536
kitsap county does have Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) and the rest of the navy bases that could use welders. and the Clearwater Casino and the rest of the Port Madison enterprise. there is the huge Tulalip casino in marysville, around there is also boeing in everett and other fab shops. but i can't comment on home prices between shohomish county and kitsap Quote Link to comment
vindats1
I agree...but stay out of East Kent also...bad people there. Boeing does not have many welders, very few...hard to get into that group...quick to get laid off too...best to seek elsewhere...lots of shops hiring. Many casinos in Wash. and lots of good places to live...but check out the very high taxes and prices of living first. Rentals are at a premium, almost impossible to find rental homes now. Good luck Quote Link to comment
