I Have An Ignition Coil From 78 l20-b That I'm Not Too Comfortable With.unsure.gif

The Primary Resistance Is At 1.75 Ohms

The Owners Manual Recommends 0.84-1.02 Ohms

The Secondary Resistance Is At 11.825 KOhms

The Owners Manual Recommends 8.2-12.4 KOhms

Should I Replace It??

I think that it's been replaced with a non EI coil. They have a higher resistance on the primary. Yes yours should be about half that, about 1 ohm.

There's nothing wrong with this, it will run just fine and not hurt a thing. However the remote igniter distributor you have can handle a lower resistance coil and will in turn have a higher voltage output on the secondary if you do.
