Logical1
Been browsing around the forum/net/books and I'm wondering if there is a single carb sidedraft intake for 4cyl L motors? Basically looking for a single port intake to hook a turbo up to. I really want to keep the flow as straight as possible and every single carb intake I have found is a downdraft... Radim
Yeah, there are plenty of Sidedraft single carb manifolds... Lynx manifold for one is for a single DCOE, Edelbrock, and Cannon have them aswell IIRC. Quote Link to comment
Logical1
Guess I should re-phrase my question. The single side draft intakes I have seen have 2 intake ports for both 'barrels' of the carb. like this one: I'm looking for a single intake port that branches off to all four intake ports on the head. SHADY280
whats wrong with a stock intake? if your going to fabricate anyhoo, just cut the end off and weld the top shut Quote Link to comment
Jesse C.
Build a box to bolt onto the intake and thus making it a single plenum type piece. Quote Link to comment
Logical1
I agree with both statements about just modding a stock intake and building a box. However I was really just curious if any side intake with a single intake port existed. I would build a plenum box but I'm working with VERY limited space as it is and I'm really hoping to get a nice ultra smooth flowing intake right off the turbo compressor outlet. I'm most likely going to have to build my own custom set-up but I wanted to ask before I build one :) Quote Link to comment
datsunfish
Havnt seen a single port sidedraft mani but,the later model emission downdraft manis have an opening on the back side. If you cap the top you could route through there. I saw a writeup with a turbo setup done that way somewhere once. Quote Link to comment
