Taking off suspension??

Can someone give me some info on how to take of the front suspension of a 71 510? ive looked and tried but there so much dirt and gunk that i cant tell. Like how many bolts is there?

Pressure wash the sucker. Then you won't get all that dirt in your eyes when your down there.

There are 5 bolts. 3 up top, and two below the strut. It's not hard, and there's no rocket science to it. Pressure was(h) it and put the ratchets to it like Jefe said.

Yeah man clean it off first, i couldn't find the bolts at first because there was so much dirt and grim. Its just three bolts on top of the strut tower and then four bolts for the lower ball joint and they come out.

Oh yeah you can take the two off the steering knuckle too and leave the ball joint on the control arm ;)

Just watch the spring tension when pulling the strut... I embedded one in the ground due to the upper part being destroyed... nothing held the strut to the top hat anymore.

That's only the strut. There are also the two lower control arms, tension rods, a sway bar and the cross member that holds most of this stuff together plus all the nuts/bolts/washers.
