INDY510
What motor? L20B? How much pressure is the elec. pump producing? ........... did you bypass the mechanical fuel pump? Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
start car then shut off. the carb should be full in bowl.then cycle the linkage to see if gas is squirting in the barrel of the carb if yes the accelpump works . If not the accl pump is stick IN or bowl is empty or massive hole. You need a pump of about 2.5 -4 pounds thats it. Quote Link to comment
benson64L
Yeah its the L20b. I took the mechanical pump off. The electric pump produces about 7 but i have a regulator on it and have it set at about 3.5. I will check to see if the accer. pump is squirting or not. Quote Link to comment

I was thinking it is the accelerator pump? I would really appreciate the help thnx You can't blow out any gaskets in the carb so don't worry about that. Too much fuel pressure could over power the float/needle valve and over fill the bowl but it is vented into the primary. Any overflow will just flood the engine and it will run rich (or not at all) and blow black smoke, plugs will be powdery black and hard to restart when warmed up. If you have a pressure regulator run it as low as possible. Try 2 1/2 - 3 PSI. If pressure is too low motor will cut out under heavy load like climbing a steep hill and act like running out of gas. If so turn pressure up very slightly until this goes away. Quote Link to comment
