metalmonkey47
I'm about to go back to work painting my car, but I need help making a tough decision. I have some jet black for my hood. The question is, should I make the whole hood black, or should I do the raised cowl in the center?? Quote Link to comment
hang_510
I'm about to go back to work painting my car whats the car color? IMO - probably the entire hood (& a rising sun on the cowl? ) Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Candy apple red Rising sun would love dead sexy on the car. Perhaps jet black BRE stripes as well? Edited June 24, 2010 by metalmonkey47 Quote Link to comment
yellowdatsun
Personally I think the rising sun and black hoods are becoming way to overdone. I've always thought the black hoods just make the car look like the owner didn't feel like taking the time to finish his project properly. Quote Link to comment
nismo dr
agreed, black hoods are way over done IMO. unless they are carbon fiber, or your doing a panda Hachiroku Quote Link to comment

metalmonkey47
Cowl it is I don't wanna be like anyone else, which is why I had the thought originally. I'll be back with pictures later Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
depends on color of the car. Some 510s look cool with them with Watabnabee wheels too!!!!!!!!! yeldat wrote I've always thought the black hoods just make the car look like the owner didn't feel like taking the time to finish his project properly I sometimes thought of this also. metalmonkey47
Looks like ass IMO. The thought was cool, but the paint came out shitty. The whole hood is just fucked at this point. I sanded down the whole hood before I sprayed on the black and wet sanded after. It's just crappy. I'm gonna strip the whole hood down to the metal in a few days and start from scratch the right way. pharouh
Doesn't look that bad. Kind of like the Chrysler cars of the late 60's and early 70's. I want to paint the hood and cowl satin black on my 620. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Just not good enough for me. Too many bumps and shittttt. It's okay though, because it's all just test painted anyways. Quote Link to comment
