LenRobertson
Getting really close to having all the parts now. Next question, is there any electrical work I need to do? Obviously hook up the speed-o-cable, and reverse lights. Do I need to do away with the kick-down switch and bridge the wires or leave them open? Anything I should be pulling out of the harness, adding to, bridging, shorting, leaving open? I do have a wiring diagram and I see a few (A/T only) and (M/T only) You need to connect the two wires that went to the neutral safety switch on the tranny. If you don't do this, it will kill your ignition circuit. On my '72, I remember them being right next to the reverse light wires. I also think the two for the safety switch just plugged into each other, you don't have to make a jumper wire. Len Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
You can remove or leave the kick-down but it will click at full throttle. Remove the wires and tape them so they won't ground to the body. Quote Link to comment
