The extra 20mm or 2cm (3/4") height is found in the cylinders just below the head. The rest of the block is identical dimention wise. Be sure to use the L20B flywheel as it 6 bolt mounting the L18 is 5 bolt. In other words the L18 flywheel won't fit the L20B. Just to be safe get the L20B motor mounts. The L18s will fit, but the L20Bs may position the motor slightly lower to clear the hood. The L20B will have an internally regulated (IR) alternator so grab and keep it for later. Use the L18 alt for now until you have time for this very good up grade. The L20B also has an electronic ignition (EI) which is far superior to the L18 points one. Again, run the L18 distributor until you can swap it in. Quote Link to comment
