a.d._510_n_ok
picked up my front brake pads for the 510 this morning and the parts man said, "You ever change these things before?". Naw, why? He laughed and said, "They are huge!". Here's one of them. It's smaller than my CDLs! "feel like I'm gonna break this damn thing!" ~ Agent J Quote Link to comment

a.d._510_n_ok
Those look like the Pads on my dime, Been trying to identify them for a while: Struts hey logical, I measured 'em for ya: 2 inches by 2 1/2 inches. these came from Autozone in the 'albany' brand and were albany part number 'D146'. O'reilly's had 'em too but they had a knucklehead working they phone that night so I went with the 'zone instead. they were about $13 out the door BTW. no wonder you guys love these things! I just changed front pads on both sides and bled the system (three times) in less than 45 minutes! the pad retaining system on this 'Annette' is so slick and simple and yet so secure! Freakin' awesome!!! Quote Link to comment
Logical1
Thanks! Upon closer inspection, They are similar but not the same: Mine have 'rounded' bottom corners and a middle hole in the pad backing: Still a mystery! Quote Link to comment

MikeRL411
Thanks! Upon closer inspection, They are similar but not the same: Mine have 'rounded' bottom corners and a middle hole in the pad backing: Still a mystery! Those middle holes look like the holes in the older Toyota Corolla pads. They were for an "M" shaped return spring that hooked over the front retaining pin thru the calipers. When you released the brakes the spring pressure lifted the pads off the rotor prolonging brake pad life and reducing brake dust buildup. Quote Link to comment
a.d._510_n_ok
did the rear brakes on it Wednesday. all four brake shoes were exactly the same shape and size - never saw that before. I had both sides finished within in an hour. I wish the brakes were better but damned if they ain't simple enough. I really think I'm starting to see the effects of running those heavy 280zx iron cross 14 rims on my 510's brakes. Quote Link to comment
