rustrocket
OK, so i just sold my 710 Wagon and am looking to get back into a 4 door 510. I've seen some here and there, ranging from $1000 to $5000 or so, for clean examples. So, if you guys were looking for a clean, unmolested, rust free, in daily driving (needs nothing) condition, what would you pay? Thanks! Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
a clean, unmolested, rust free, in daily driving (needs nothing) conditionYep, plan on $4500 or $5000 as a reasonable price. It will be much much cheaper if it needs a little TLC. Quote Link to comment

HRH
I'm a cheap bastard. I prefer $350 510s. That's how much I bought mine for. No rust. Just a screwed up rear control arm and quarter panel. But here's a thought: All running vehicles over 30 years old are worth $50. Not a typo. Any more than that, and you've lost a shitload of money because of all the money you're going to dump into it. Sad, but true. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
They used to be worth $50. Now a wrecking yard will give you $200 for any old car. Some won't as a matter of principle, but some will. Scrap went way up the last coupla year... Quote Link to comment

rustrocket
Location updated, i'm in the SF Bay Area. $4500...wow. I guess that's what i expected, but was hoping for a little less with this economy. Seems like it's easier to find a cleaner 240/260/280z for the money. Quote Link to comment

I guess most of us buy these heaps knowing that we're never going to get out of them what we put in. It's still cheaper than a girlfriend, regardless of the car :-) Quote Link to comment
