Tdatsun1971
Well Guys here goes. After many trial & errors with bad points & fouled plugs. The search was on for a Single points dist. Found one finally....but junk. Soooo i decided to modify my dual points dist. It can be done, my truck is the proof. It now runs better than ever. Plugs are great looking just the right color, no fouling. YEA! This was no big operation and it took no time at all. Matter of fact you can even line one screw up. And hook dist ground to the Pertronix plate. Hook the red & blk wire to where the kits says. Boom your done. ;) Quote Link to comment

ser240z
Anybody know if this is the same dual point dizzy that's in my 73 610? If so, I am very interested to see how you did this. I've had the same problem, looking for a single point or a cheap mathcbox, but I'd rather just go Pertronix if I could. Thanks Scott Quote Link to comment
racerx
Yeh, show us how you did dual point distributor to set-up for Pertronix. Cuz I read and heard that this can only be done with single point. Quote Link to comment
hang_510
Matter of fact you can even line one screw up. is that all that secures it??? Quote Link to comment
racerx
Maybe this will help. I did call the number for datsun Motorsports as indicated in the article but the number is disconnected because the article says you can convert dual point to single point using SSS parts. http://dimequarterly.tierranet.com/articles/productreviews/pertronix_ignitor.shtml Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
I wonder how he did this as I tried to put a Pertronix on there but notice the MagnetRing of the Pertronix would be loose on the point lobes, just spin around. It would not lock down, like the point lobes on the dual point dizzy are smaller. So I cant see how he did this. I have made L20 single point ,SSS and Mitshibishi single points work ok with the Pertronix conversions. Quote Link to comment
racerx
Hainz, A Mitshubishi distribotor will work on our 510s. What model and year.? Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
the Mitshibishi dizzys came off the Datsun Lseries crate motors from Japan back in the day. Every now and then I come across one.Was not a USA item that I know of but he points are the same as for a Hitachi dizzy Quote Link to comment
