Removing front struts Help

im trying to remove the from sturts (510) i remove the brakes but i don't know how to remove the joint it connect to on the bottom. thanks

The strut is only held in by the brake line, the top hat (either 3 nuts on the strut tower or the one nut holding in the shock) and two bolts on the bottom of the strut, holding it to the steering arm thing on top of the control arm/ball joint. you'll have to turn the wheel one way to access one bolt, and the opposite way to get the other.

you mean the ball joint? thats simple there are 2 ways eather you remove the 2 (17mm i beleve) bolts that go into the bottom of the strut or you remove the 2 12mm and 2 14 mm bolts and remove the ball joint with the strut

do i just pull it out? i remove the two 12mm and the 17mm also do i have to compress the spring?..

if you remove the brake caliper 2 ea 17mm the 3 14 mm nuts off the top and the 2 17mm bolts on the bottom just pry up on the strut to compress the strut about a inch and pull the bottom out tward you. it should come out

Please compress the spring, If you plan to remove the Springs. You are playing with a loaded gun. I have seen the carnage of what happens when springs are not compressed. Trips to ER, Holes in Walls, Not to mention s few broken bones. The Free height of your spring is 3"longer than it is while on the strut, Each inch of compression = say 150lbs now compress it say 3" now your talking 550lbs of pre tension, get the picture.

Please be careful.
