Drfixit
Ok so I decided when I find a dogleg I am not going to be able to rebuild it myself. If I took it to the local tranny shop to have it rebuilt would they be able to get all the parts required? Whats an average price I should expect to pay? Thanks, Doc Quote Link to comment
qwik510
The Dime Quarterly 7.1 has a great how to article on rebuilding the dogleg 5 speed. Quote Link to comment

Dime Dave
After having issues with my 63 series dogleg sticking in gear, I ordered parts from Nissan to re-build it. I was told the following parts are still available (we'll see when they arrive): 32606-N7100 - Coupling Sleeve 32604-P0100 - Baulk Ring (Brass syncronizer ring) 32609-73201 - Shifting Insert (detents under coupling ring) 32603-73200 - Spreader Spring (keeps pressure on the shifting inserts) Quote Link to comment

datsunaholic
'Tis the season for Dogleg issues. The dogleg in my '74 620 "stuck" in 3rd while I was merging on the freeway on Wednesday. I thought I might have broken it forcing the lever out of 3rd, but it shifted. Now 3rd shifts noisy (fine IN gear, and shifts normally into any other). Sigh. Quote Link to comment

datsunfish
My dogleg second synchro is going out and its kinda irritating. Another guy has his stuck in third too. The one in my old 620 was perfect all the time and I loaded the bed and hauled a boat and trailer often. Where do I find that dq write up?? Quote Link to comment

Drfixit
Here you go, DQ Volume 7 - Issue 1, click, pay and wait for the mailman. http://tinyurl.com/yz6c8sf Awesome thanks a bunch. Now I guess there are probably different doglegs and/or 5 speeds out there. What should I look for to match up with my L18 in my 69 521? With the 4 speed the freeways almost out of the question LOL Quote Link to comment
Dime Dave
You need a 63 series for the L18. Go to the "Dogleg ID Help Needed" thread. Link: http://forum.ratsun.net/showthread.php?t=16042 Quote Link to comment
