:confused:so the wheels and tires that are on there now are 15x8 with p195-75r14

and the new wheels are 15x8 as well but im unsure of what tires will fit, i really like the bfgoodrich radials,

but would a 235/70-15 rather then a p195/75r14 fit. its the width im worryed about.

i know they will fit on the wheel its self.

A 195 is way too narrow for a 8 inch wide wheel. You can do it, but it pulls out the sidewalls pretty bad. Think lowrider with tread in the middle and half of that sidewall.

Or here's another formula that I always use:

195 = width of tire in mm.

70 = the percent of the width that makes up the sidewall.

R = rim size.

So 195mm is 19.5 cm, and there are 2.54 cm/inch.

19.5/2.54= 7.68

multiplied by the aspect ratio: 7.68*.70= 5.376*2 (2 sidewalls)=10.752

10.752 makes up the sidewall + R14 = 24.752 inches tall.

A good rule of thumbs for rims is to have about a half inch wider tire on each side than the wheel width. So a stock 14x6 inch Datsun rim would be perfect width for a 185 or 195 width tire. Now granted, that doesn't include racing. I have 205 slicks mounted on a 5.5" rim. Pooches a little, but fits!
