ichorid
this local mechanic happened to have a new Mini S in the shop for a clutch job. had to take off the whole front end practically. Pretty gnarly packed in there. Quote Link to comment
Bleach
I'm just glad I don't own a Z32. A 350Z looks easier to work on than a 300ZX. The good old inline six is really nice to work on (compared to others) and a great 1st car to learn about engines. Quote Link to comment
72240z
Ya I was going to note the z32. I bet the mini is easier to change the clutch then a z32. Owning 2 z32's is the reason I now ow a s30 lol. Quote Link to comment
Skib
lol I wouldn't even pop the hood of a Z32 Edited September 25, 2009 by Skib Quote Link to comment
a.d._510_n_ok
I love old skool but my wife had an '87 Nissan Maxima with the V6 in it and I lost knuckle skin every time I changed the oil filter. I finally said f*ck it and took the thing to a jiffy lube type place. They got the filter changed but broke the oil pressure sending unit and we lost most of our oil on the way home. She was still driving it until March of '07 when she pulled out in front on a '93 Chevy 3/4 ton pulling a trailer load of scrap iron.....she is lucky to be alive. Quote Link to comment
nismo dr
you guys are funny:lol: I'm the opposite, my 521 is a whole new world of obsolescence for me, up till recently if it wasn't OBD II I didn't touch it Edited September 25, 2009 by nismo dr Quote Link to comment
MAG58
Worst car I've ever worked on in my life was a 2000 VW Beetle turbo. Bad timing belt? Pull both fenders, inner fenders, trans, subframe, and eventually the motor (technically you don't have to pull it but all the mounts are off it by then) Want to put a new driver's side headlamp in? Pull battery, relocate the damn PS resivoir, remove airbox. The fucking turbo? everything below it... (exhaust, both driveshafts, shifter linkage) then unbolt motor and lower it to it's lowest point so you can get to all the shit above it. I would probably choose the "commit suicide" option should it be available before touching that godforsaken tupperware party again. Quote Link to comment
72240z
Mostly all late vw are nightmares, the way they pack shit under the intake mani and what not? Blows my mind, like wtf were they thinking?. Quote Link to comment
