Yeah that hose was just to pass smog. I'm not 100% sure on the transmission. 1st is bottom left reverse is top left. I did some research and thought it was a z 5 speed but someone told me the shift pattern would not be this way. The drive shaft has Ben cut and re welded if that makes a differemce

I have an l16 with a 5 speed for sale. The motor is still curently in the car right now but I will be pulling it in the next two weeks. Tonight I will make a video of it starting and running. The car engine runs great. Nothing that I know of as in performance parts on this engine. When I bought my 510 I drove the car from Reno to Las Vegas with no problems. And I have daily drove it for over a year now, minus the summers. Way too hot in vegas. The Transmission shifts smoothly into all gears except for 1st to 2nd there is a small grind if shifted fast. If you drive civil no grind occours. I will also throw in the radiator and anything else that I would not need as Im about to start an SR swap. Looking to get 500 bucks for everything. Im willing to drive to Ranch Cucamonga area for delivery for an extra 60 bucks to cover gas. I will see my family while Im there and will pay my way back home. Also willing to trade for an r180 LSD, spook for a 510 plus the difference, 15 inch rims ( no stock datsun wheels), Anything really I can use for my Dime I might need. If anyone wants some pics of the engine and a video text me at 702-321-2660m and I can run outside and text it back.

My friend just bought this car and it has been acting up. Basically what it does is when your first pull away it sputters for about 5-8 seconds as you try and give it gas. Once your crusing it does not do it any more. I was thinking some type of fule issue. He just changed the plugs and wires. Would the fuel pump be the issue on this? I just dont really know as it does not act up once past say 1800 RPM. Any suggestions would be great. I think his next step is going to be fuel filter.

My friend has the opportunity to purchase an 86 300zx Turbo. The only thing is its an auto. Switching it over to stick, what are some of the hard things that come about on this swap?

Today I was able to take the old drums out and put in the 280zx rear discs. Overall I am pretty satisfied with how they came out, and how easy it really was to do this type of work. My welds are not the best so dont bag haha. Just waiting on a master cylinder and I will be back on the road, should be here by the end of the week.

I snapped my TC rod on my 510 due to poly bushings. I have slow started replacing them with OEM

I'm going to be upgrading to the 280zx breaks so at the same time I need to upgrade to bigger wheels. Just seeing if anyone has interest in these wheels and tires. I think the wheels at one point were a bronze color but were painted over to just be silver. Tires in great condition practically brand new. Looking for 200 plus shipping. If anyone in socal or AZ wants to meet half way we can work something out.

I have a few more pics but nothing more than what you already see. Its actually quite hard to take pictures of the back seat and get everything in there. I had to cut about 4-6 inches of foam from the rear of the bottom part of the seat in order for it to sit as flush as possible to the part of the fllor that juts up. The back part needed no modification. The bottom has brackets the were used in the 240 that I just put new screws to hold it in place. The top part I had to get some L brachets and screw them into the top back portion of the seat then screw that other part of the L bracket to the area of the car where the speakers mount. here are the only other pics i have.

The motor is the stock L16. When i got the car it was all mix matched parts. The struts where who knows what and the cartridges in there were two completly diffrent ones. The Carb is from who knows what but not stock. As for plans for the car, body and paint Im going to do a shade of orange and Im going to powder coat my bumpers door handels vents all black. I want to keep some chrome. I will prob eventually do black wheels with chrom lip to go with the rest of the car. Motor plans I want to go with an SR20DET eventually. My first car ever was a 90 240sx coupe that I wanted to do a SR swap. As a teen never had the money so that never happened. Now that Im a little older with a better job and a garage I will get the motor but in a different car. As for the badge. I was wondering where that gets placed. When i got the girl it was off so i just threw it in the middle.

I have been lurking for a while. Actually had been signed up for a month or so just never posted anything. Its slow at work today so I thought I would start my build thred. I got the car in October 2010 from Reno NV. I actually drove it home from Reno to Vegas and it ran great. When I got the car it was all in pieces in the trunk or in the back seat area. This is the day after I brought it home. Since then I have done a few things such as cleaning the grill and re painting it. I made all new door panels for the front and rear. I installed a back seat from a s14. And most recently I started to do the 280 zx disc brake conversion front and rear. I already have the fronts installed with ground control 250lbs springs. I swapped out my 13 inch libres for the z wheels. I have made the mounting brackets for the rear disc just have not had the time to put them in. I have been trying to go snowboard as much as I can on my day off since the season is coming to an end. Next project is to finish the discs in the rear and start on the body work.
