  1. Like Flatcat says ,, the 4Age is cheaper and almost as powerful,, which is a good thing,, cuz that 411 is a tiny little thing... I also was hoping to buy a set of weber 40s with manifold in the near future to make it look more vintage sitting in there,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and i already have 2 running 4Ag engines and rear wheel drive trannies and 3 sets of fuel injection systems for them if i decide to make it more dependable. i have been wanting to do a 4Age in a 411 since we saw little-Jasons set-up in his 1200 back in 2010 and he was giving us much advice.. But now things are going to have to be researched on the internets only. :( RIP Jason .
  2. Oh i know ,, but they are offset as much as i would want a slot to be,,, that and it's the only 13" ones i could find.. in the first pictures, the front wheels are Donovans 14" rims with 185/60/14 he was running on the Warthog and they hit even at slight turn,,,,,,,,,,,, the second set of oics they are 185/70/13 and rub bottom front arch on a hard turn ,
  3. Looks like an emissions pipe,, exhaust re circulation maybe ( i'm thinking that pipe that wraps around the engine with the giant nut on each end) like on a newer engine like say an A15 or newer.
  4. Bubba Ho-tep,,,,,,,, if it's on i will sit down and watch it almost every time ,, for a b movie it is a great ride All is well Thank you,,, thank you very much . . Quote
  5. So i got the lawn mowed ,, no tweekers had moved in yet so all in all good day. Others were there in new cars,, but they don't get their picture taken . A random parking lot in Montesano No beach pictures cuz it was getting late and everyone but Rick was crying to get going home..
  6. Not coupe,, that's what i wanted but never could find one cheap in good shape,, or titled .. Granted it is newer, easier to get parts for, and i assume ALOT safer in every way ,, hell i even have 2 extra sets of taillights for it. 5 "new" engines a pedal swap with vacuum canister But it,,, much like it's brother the 2door 510 that's languishing back there... Just doesn't speak to me other than,, "hey,, i could do the job" Other than being filled with previous owners garbage a pretty nice car really. I am into this for $160. with title change.. I only got the cheaper "title purposes only" title and didn't spring for actual collector plates yet.
  7. Should have named it If i try another set of front tires i'm going to burn this 1200 to the ground ,,, fixer-upper These are 175/70/13 and they still rub on front fender Going to try some 185/60/13 and if those rub 155/70/13 tomorrow and if those look to skinny,,,, i might break out the 25 year old brand new ,,,,, 175/60/13s i have stored in a secret location known only by the accounting firm of Ernst and Whinney . Unless someone has a free set of 12" slot mags laying around ... .
  8. So Fucking Ted told us about spotting this 1200 last winter but it sat down off the road in a mudhole and it just wouldn't stop raining ,,,,,,,,,,,,, then,,,,,,,,,, it stopped. We were in the neighborhood asking about a 411 that was also spotted in winter but left for dryer times so we stopped and asked....... $300. later we were loading it onto trailer,, with title . Previous owner was older lady and ( i assume) her sons couldn't figure out how to fix points so it was dependable enough for her to drive,, so they had bought a few weird distributors to try,,, but lost the OG distributor so i didn't get that. But had 3 or 4 matchboxs for A14s so not really a big deal I have been quietly searching for a cheap high gas mileage Datsun for awhile to drive when i tear my 411 apart to install 4Age ... i bought a 2door b210 a couple years ago and been collecting A14 parts and a couple 5speeds for it but ,, never really felt a "thing" for it . So maybe i will use that junk on this instead As you can see by road height it was down in a river bottom type area ,, but that is a major hiway and i'm pretty surprised no-one beat us to it . After washing and taking off those horrible lazy eye things it looked better Put my sons slots on he had laying around Anyways,,, it runs pretty decent with matchbox i had ,, brakes work really good it needs wiring cleaned up under hood and the hole in gas tank fixed or new tank. .
  9. First and last sentences say everything ,, I don't indulge in the smokey arts as i got enough to fuck my brain up to last 4 lifetimes,, but if it floats your boat why not. Here In Washington there is quite a few decent wage jobs in the growing / harvesting / shipping industry that a few ex-logging towns have embraced that were literally turning into ghost towns a few years ago.. It is actually making a couple coastal towns here leaders in the industry because of the forward thinking governments and all the giant empty warehouses already set up with high voltage power, sitting on cheap land to buy or rent. Mostly because their elected officials live in the present and are thinking of what will help their citizens NOW and and the future and not the 1950s . . . .
  10. When that movie came out, we were on vacation and stopped in Denver ( going to Oklahoma ) and my cousin and his buddies took me and his son us to see it in theater.. Kinda weird as kid,, to be just out of 8th grade going to a movie with a couple Bandidos if full patches.. Even cooler was the fact Arnold from happy days eventually married Donna from that clip.. ..
  11. Either of the J13s have new rear seal installed ?
  12. . Changed thread info on first page . .
  13. Yeah, it's yours man , car(s) bodies were going to be sold this summer but laziness got in the way . The announcement for the All Japanese classic in Vancouver was so late in coming,, we are going to have to skip it this year.
  14. I have made a pact with myself that one day,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, one fucking day,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, me and the boy will share the driving down to one of your famous BBQs and deliver it to you in person..
  15. Nope still deeply despises them . We been together since we were 14,, she gave up having a beater car clutter free life many moon ago. I was hoping the 1200 i bought a week or so ago might get driven around by her till dependable, and then sold for money to throw at her 77 celica toyota coupe,,, she's always on my back about getting on the road again. :)
  16. Bought my last set of bias plys at the gas station in Georgetown on airport way ,, that has been closed for more than 23 years.
  17. I just read that the guy that wore the Godzilla suit in the early movies died today..
  18. I finally went and scooped up a parts car my friend Bill told us about last winter.. Although it was only about 25 feet off road,, the owner had to bulldoze a road to get it . Then winch it out cuz it had been there so long it was buried up to body .. Notice the tree that it had to be cut out of ,, still sticking out of drivers side bumper
  19. No real update other than i made my wife drive us to breakfast in it last week.. She was so pissed at first but after finding out it's a funny little car to drive,, and old geezers asking her about it at stop lights,, ,,, she warmed up a little bit to it. Where's all the white women at??
