  1. Thomas, those BFGoodrich All Terains are 235/75/15s? Crazy, they actually look like 30's to me. I was contemplating getting 30's but these actually look beefier than I expected. Are those wheels 15X7s, do you happen to know what offset they are, and do they rub? If so where on the truck do the tires rub? I have the stocky wheels on my truck currently but the front wheels sit considerably further in the wheel well than my rear wheels. Not sure if this is normal. I really like the way the stock wheels look but I'm guessing I would need to add a spacer to the fronts to get them to sit closer to how the rears sit. I wouldn't think twice about running the stock wheels if they weren't so skinny, so I'm still on the fence on that one.
  2. Confirmed. It turned about 2 1/4 first turn and about 2 1/4 second turn. I found an 86 Krew Kab picture online and the owner commented underneath that his truck had a z22 and that it was original to the truck.
  3. That's interesting, I own an import 85 Krew Kab 720. They must have been using older parts on the newer vehicles during manufacturing. I double checked all the numbers and they all match (tag next to hood hinge, vin on frame, vin on door). There is a "Bureau of Automotive Repair" tag on the door that says engine size "2.4L" year 85. But from the quick research I did, this tag is a proof of emissions tag which is added after an engine repair/swap not by the manufacturer. My guess is after the engine swap, they had to take it in to prove that all emissions equipment was still intact. Either way, it would be good to confirm that the gear ratio is what it says on the tag. The full engine code on the hood hinge tag is - Z22 (S) 2187 -
  4. My 85 720 tag says - F4W71B CA46 . It also says that it originally came with engine Z22. But the previous owner swapped a z24 with 5 speed into it. I'm looking at getting some 30x9.5x15 tires on 15x7 wheels. So from what I'm reading here this should be a good combo. Now the only concern is how badly will it rub?

    Tire size

Just to confirm hahaha. 30x9.5xR15 on 15X7s will rub and will make the truck run sluggish on 4x4 720? I really like the stance and tire/wheel combo on this bushmaster. I bought the wheels already but haven't purchased the tires. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1984-nissan-720-bushmaster-truck/

    Carb Insulator Spacer

I do remember as a kid watching a mechanic in mexico making a gasket. I don't recall what material he was using but I thought in my head, "thats got to be temporary". Didn't think it could actually work. The way he was doing it was he placed the material on flange. Then he used a rubber mallet to tap the gasket material against the sharp edges of the flange/bolt holes. Getting a perfect scribe.

    Carb Insulator Spacer

Thanks for the quick response. Ok, I will my keep my eyes open for an OEM one. Any recommendations on where to purchase the 2 other gaskets? So far the only ones I've seen that come with both gaskets, come in the rebuild kits.
  9. The previous owner of my 85 720 2.4 removed the carb for rebuild. He broke the Carb insulator in the process, says it was stuck. Is there another replacement option for this part that works well? Or should I keep looking for an OEM replacement?
