They both are very fast, just personal preference, but who kicked Ferrari's ass at Lemans? :rofl:
Sorry I forgot all the Datonas were 289s, but in my defense, it sounded like a big block!
GT40 is a MK1, so 289, if it was a MK II or MKIII with the 427 and bed of snakes headers, it would sound even more wicked than the 427 Daytona coupe. :thumbup:
The 289 came out in1964, you could get a 221, 260 or 289 in the mustang in 64. The Hipo 289 was 271hp, and dealer installed options including 4 webers would get you 343hp.
I have been in the Shelby Cobra museum when they fired up the 427 GT40 inside, the sound was incredible!
You would be supprised how much the shock towers move on some cars. It made a big difference on the Eclipse I used to have. If you pulled the bolt out of one side, and jacked it up to work on it it would missalign by at least one half inch. That can change your alignment by a lot when going over bumps.
