  1. Thanks!!!! This car is part of whats been keeping me off the 521. Now that its gone the 521 is exploded in the shop right now, the frame under the cab is shortened 1 1/2 inches reboxed and reinforced, with the body mounts dropped the same. Hopefully over the week, i get the cab back on with the floor raised 1 inch to put the rocker on the ground :) The camaro only left friday :)
  2. The car was real rough when the customer brought it to us. We replaced both fenders (crap aftermarket parts that we had to make fit). Door skin on the right side, with a rust repair to the shell. Patches in the left door. Patches in both 1/4 panels at the front and rear of the wheel opening. The nose piece was broken nearly in half. They dont make many pieces for a 77 so we had to make due on some things. We shaved the handles, side markers, lines around the tailights, and the trunk lock. I was unsure when the owner said he wanted it 2 toned, but im am very happy with the look now that its said and done. I really wish he would have listened to me about putting 18's and 20's or 22's on it, and now that the car is done the owner thinks the same thing. Oh well, its his money. Hope yall like!!!!
  3. Cool, i think ill probably narrow my clip 4 inches then, just for a little extra clearance to the fenders. I stared on the body drop the other day, its half stock floor, half traditional. i took 1 1/2 out of the rail, and im foing to raise the floor another inch. Ill get some pics posted asap, hopefully with the clip installed too.
  4. Im about to swap a hardbod clip into my 521 and was wondering if anyone knew the track width of a 521. I know ive seen some spec sheets on 521's around the site before, but cant seem to find any. Thanks in advance for any help.
  5. As title says, make offer. Started evey time 1st try when pulled from truck around a year ago. Good strong running motor.
  6. With a topic name like low 620, i would have expected it to be low. good looking truck, but i dont know about it being low............
  7. Nevermind i already talked to seth earlier.
  8. Do you remember how much body drop it took to get the rockers on the ground???

    My "NEW" 67 520

Seeing as the early datsuns were all imported to the west coast, not too many made it this way. Im not sure which way your headed with this project, stock or custom. If you going custom, i may have a few things you may want. My air ride frame is also for sale: Not sure if your interested, but i figured id throw it out there. Im deff not using the J13 so if you run across the need for any parts just get at me. I also know of a few local resource for "un-obtainable" datsun parts that i would gladly turn another east coaster onto.

    A Quandry...

SR20 for sure, be sure to swap the rear end. After the swap you wont want the 4:88 gear thats in there. Find an L series truck and swap the rear, i believe the L series trucks were 4:10's.
  13. Looks good man!!! Good to see its coming along unlike mine. You know anyone locally that would be interested in buying my frame???? Im bout to clip the 521 and full frame it with a KA, just need to get rid of the other frame. Looks good bro!!! Acro is gonna be hot this year!!!
  14. Looks like its going to be yamaha r1 carbs. Im going to get they motor pulled sometime this week, hopefully my carbs will be in by then so i can get started on making my manifold.
  15. This is the only reason i didnt put my ls1 in my 521. Even as an extended cab it looks pretty tight in there. Work looks great though!!! Keep those pics coming.
  16. Im not really looking at doing itb's. It could be a possiblity. I am really looking for a manifold to bolt up some sidedrafts to. Im really trying to stay away from the electronic nightmares. Ive been doing a bit a research and found my best option may be motor cycle carbs, not throttle bodies. I would love to find something to just bolt on and be done with it, but i still havent been able to find anywhere to purchase anything of the sort.
  17. I got a bagged and linked frame for sale that lays flat out on 225/35/18's if your interested
  18. Well, i got my donor hardbody for the front suspension clip and the motor and trans. I have a few questions regarding the motor: 1: What is involved in a 240 intake swap parts wise (ecu, harness) 2: I really am thinking about going with a dual sidedraft carb setup on the KA but have been un successful in finding sources for parts 3: does anyone have any of this stuff laying around (240 intake with all the trimings) or and ka sidedraft setup. If anyone is interested in buying a bagged 521 datsun frame, make me an offer. If will come with complete susension front and rear, just no bags
  19. Also note how much the frame was clearanced for the bag I recommend some interanl gusseting, and beefing up the engine crossmember.
  20. you will need to notch the frame for the tie rods to clear note the notch forward of the engine crossmember
  21. Theres a actually a very good possiblity this frame will me going under my dads 521, he just need to decide.
  22. Its going to start with a norrowed hardbody clip with a ka24e, and from there back will be all custom. No sharp edges only curves. Canti setup with the shockwaves in the back.
  23. As of right now, im looking to sell for my datsun 521 the whole frame, suspension, and rear axle. Im going a diff route with the frame and suspension and wont be needing this setup anymore. It lays true rail front to rear on a 215/35/18 and im sure it will lay a 225/35/18, and can easily be converted away from the shock wave setup. Noy really sure whwat its worth, but im open to offers.
  24. Im looking for any info i can find about carbing a ka. I just got a motor love to run some side drafts. Any info is greatly appreciated.
  25. Pilkington classics made a limited production run of 521 windshields a few years back. They only made 15, if they sold well they were going to make more. I bought 2 of them for right around 500 shipped, the 1st one they sent was shatered, so they sent me 2 more. I know they sold all the stock they had, but i do not believe they produced anymore. It might be worth a try to check with them. Price may seem high, but i cannot stand old pitted windshields.
