For clairification, the fill capacity is:
64 fluid ounces to main fill hole8 fluid ounces to shift lever hole(Edited due to subsequent information provided that shift lever hole is not a fluid filled cavity.)
My transmission was completely dry from draining a couple of years ago. Using the above measurements, a bit of fluid will overflow the holes, so keep a drip pan or tray below the vehicle.
Remember to check the levels after 100 miles of driving.

What makes a 1968 DATSUN 1300 TRUCK 520S DX unique compared to the "base" truck?
Full hub caps
"de Luxe" badges
Chrome window frames
Truck bed mounted "headache frame"
Feel free to add your observations.

Mike,
I am striving for originality with the tube. I do not think it is copper, but I have yet to attempt to bend/form it.
Thanks,
Keith

Does anyone have a photo of the original routing of Vacuum Advance Tube from the J13 distributor (Item 9 at http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun520/Datsun520521Index/Electrical1300J13/ElectricalPartsMounting/tabid/1423/Default.aspxto Nikki carburetor? (The tube I have appear to have many bends to circumvent the heater hoses, ignition wires and choke cable, and I want to make certain I have the routing correct. I am concerned with the over/under positioning of the tube in relation to the other components in the engine compartment.)
Thanks,
Keith

Rebuilt the clutch slave and bled the clutch hydraulic system today. Small progress, but some progress.

I have a spare instrument panel (from a 521) if you want to test your sending units with it.

Good find.
Now the discussion should gravitate towards the topic of "round" vs "hex" fastened head.
I have found that most originally installed clamps used the round head, with the exception if some 3+" radiator hoses. Some of the clamps sold over the counter via a Nissan dealership have the hex head.
Please share your experience.

Datsunlandsocal (http://www.datsunlandsocal.com) recently ventured into making Nissan Patrol rubber parts. Perhaps they could assist you with 320 parts.

I have one (1) new, standard J13 piston that I may be interchangeable with the A14 piston.
Here is a reference chart:

My search for the hose for the 520 turned up no off the shelf part. I had one custom made using my old one as a sample.

After relying post 17, I have filled the shifter hole with transmission fluid. So now, how do I drain the fluid without removing the transmission?
