My first post on this tread regarding my 1966 520.
Today, I located replacement door window fuzzy strips at my local hardware store. 29 cents per foot. 10 feet should be enough for the four strips. (Since I do not have any of my photos hosted I cannot add any photos of the project.)

The measurements I found on my 520 window channel are:
.576 (9/16”) base inside
.475 side inside
Based on these dimensions, I have identified these felts:

Our strategy was to insert the 1/2 rope seal in the channel of the block, gently tap the seal with the ball of a hammer to fully seat the seal in the channel. I believe we had to cut 1/8" from each half end of the seal after tapping. we repeated the procedure for the 1/2 seal on the seal/crank cap. (We used the seal from the comprehensive gasket kit acquired on ebay.)

The Datsun Engine Manual is for the J13/J15&J16. The manual is at the engine rebuilder, but when I get it back I'll be glad to copy the index. Then you can tell me what page(s) you need copies of.

Congratulations on the purchase of the 240Z. Parts for the S30 are much easier to find than the PL520. Unfortunately, the parts that make the Series 1 240Z unique are a bit harder to come by.

nissanparts.cc provides a lookup of "valid" part numbers. The lookup does not confirm that the part is available via the Nissan Distribution Centers (NDC) or in the warehouse in Japan.
According to Courtesy Nissan, no dealers have the part in stock and the NDC and Japan warehouse does not have the part available.

Beautiful truck. I am rebuilding a 1966 520 w/J13 motor. After searching for parts, I have found that some 510, 521 & 620 parts a well as A & E series motors components interchange.

I am rebuilding a J13, did you rebuild the J15 or was it running when you pruchased it?

The J15 is a larger bore, so the head gasket may not work.
I ordered the complete set from ebay seller taiaik (Singapore). I received the set promptly. I am not at the point of reassembling the motor, so I cannot attest to the quality of the set.

I have heard that the Nikki carburetor that was standard on some J13 motors will not move enough air to accommodate the larger J15 cylinder volume.

I am in the process of rebuilding a J13. It has been very difficult to locate all the components for the rebuild. The prior owner disassembled the motor and left many of the internals in the bed of the truck for 10 years. Needless to say, rust is everywhere.

I have been researching the J13 specs and find that that J15 and J16 have a lot a similarity.
My cam is very pitted and I have not been able to find a replacement.
I have a couple of options,
Rebuild the J13 with a J15 cam (readily available since it was also used on the Nissan/Datsun Forklift and also on the BMC (MGA single cam engines from 1956-1963??) Leave the cylinders with the 1300 bore.
Bore the block to accept J15 pistons and replace the head with the J15 cam and valves
Find a J13 motor locally in operable condition - slim chance on this one
I do not want to upgrade to a L16 or other motor, the truck is so clean and I prefer to keep it original.
Any suggestions?

The descriptions are from the Nissan parts catalogue. I have not taken pictures of the 200+ parts. 95+% of them are in their original boxes or plastic bags.

Over a year ago, I purchased some NOS Datsun/Nissan parts from a defunct dealership.
The list has the Nissan part number in the XXXXX-XXXXX format, current retail value, model application (if currently determinable) and quantity.
The parts relate to many of the 1960-1990 Nissan vehicles including; 1600 and 2000 Roadsters, 510, Access, Maxima, Stanza, Sentra, B210, 210 200SX, 240SX, 610, 720, 810, Frontier, Pulsar, Quest, Van and others. There are few Z car parts.
The prices listed are the current retail value that I researched from several Nissan price sources. Make me an offer on any parts you want. Use ups.com to estimate the shipping charges from 75075.

Today, I fabricated a front crankshaft bolt that accepts the hand crank rod. My J13 was missing the bolt. I purchased a bolt for a Metropolitan. The Metro used an SAE thread, and the J13 uses metric. So we had to machine the old SAE threaded shaft and plug weld a Metric threaded shaft.
