  1. thats fuckin awesome. I need a Tyrell Corporation logo sticker. I see the Umbrella logo all the time on peoples cars.
  2. Exactly. Thats what the electric planes are as well. I read that article and while interesting, I was already aware of other electric planes. But my point is that there is no electric airliner that can carry many passengers. Apparently they are going to try and build one now which is great but brings me to my second point. Motors. We have some awesome electric motor technology. Battery technology is just barely starting to catch up, and it may never catch up because of the materials cost in building and maintaining and recycling batteries. And that materials/handling cost may come down as well, but a better solution would either to be make electricity so plentiful and so cheap that it offsets the manufacture and long term recycling/maintenance of said battery systems, OR, to make the car produce the energy at the car and turn it into electricity on the spot. Hydrogen fuel cells and other such ideas offer this option, but are also years in development behind the extremely efficient motors and motor control systems that we produce today. If someone does make an electric airliner, then it will push engineers to design more efficient power infrastructure/fueling. Once that happens, I am all down with electric everything. Until then, I will stick with not liking electric cars
  3. So electric can fly a plane now? Didnt think so.
  4. I have been trying to get a set of ek32 for a while, but this guy I know wont freakin budge on them. lol
  5. The idea is apparently that first we will develop the infrastructure to support electric transportation, and then efficient electricity will follow. That would work alot better with two things, A: already having an efficient way to make the electricity like Thorium nuclear, which of course we dont want to invest in because it cant be used to make bombs. (while not one single nuclear power plant in the world has ever made a single unsubsidized dime) B: A plane that runs on electricity. Without those two things, pushing ahead for an electric infrastructure is a fools errand.
  6. ^that is what "environmentalists" dont understand, and it frustrates the hell out of me.
  7. WTF I made a comment on this a week ago and it never posted. congrats on getting the car. If you want it lowered like Henry's, then start saving for custom suspension in front, rear lowers pretty well without many issues.
  8. I wont powdercoat bolts, the coating doesnt last on hardware. And apparently from what I have found out, true "black chrome" is actually kind of ugly. That is what the plating company told me, and they have been doing it for 25 years, he reccomended I use the electroless nickel process instead. I havent assembled the wheels yet, I am powdercoating the inner barrels first to make everything perfect. The bolts are plated at .00025 thickness. Yes they are some pricey bolts, this lot of 440 cost me a total of about $300 including the bolts, which is about $1.46 per bolt, much much cheaper than Ace Hardware. I got 3 sizes done, M5x40 (shanked M6x30 M6x40 (shanked) M8x35 If anyone needs some grade 12.9 hardware that will not rust, let me know.
  9. very good and true point. Firebird has a couple turns that could use some work as well. lmfao
  10. I have to at least make the statement that a "Perfect road" should be one which you can use the full width of without worrying about a car coming the opposite direction at you from a blind turn. A perfect road, should have no speed limits, and no highway patrol or state police risk or presence, a perfect road should be extremely well maintained and have no potholes or bumps. For that reason, a "perfect road" usually has a start and finish line, and is normally found behind a fence. And I am DOWN, see you in the spring.
  11. Thats also completely true. Its more the stuff where I have to pull out a multimeter that it saves time on though. Everything else you mostly have to use your brain to figure out still. Its not gonna tell you that you have a bad radiator hose.
  12. OBD is the greatest thing ever invented for cars. Seriously. Perhaps I am being "Lazy like the human animal" but I prefer a car that tells me what is wrong, and saves me from wasting my time on electronics diagnostic. Once you use an OBD based stand alone ecu daughterboard, you will never turn back.
  13. I just want to know where I can get undrilled barrel blanks. Most people dont form their own barrels, so who does it? I am a machinist, I dont need them drilled and sized, just a blank. Araya wants $1500, which for what they will do is totally worth it, cause thats cutting the weld, restoring, making new barrels, re-welding, yatta yatta. But mine are 3 piece and I just need two outer barrel so I can turn my two 15x6.5s into a 15x8 and then have a set of staggered 15x7 and 15x8 mesh.

Ok, I was talking about twin peaks. note, the hashtag?

  15. Just got off the phone with Berkshire Plating in MA. They already finished my bolts and shipped them out without me even paying for them!!!! Now THAT is customer service. They are invoicing me for the costs, they ran a little north of what I was expecting but not much, $220 vs $175, no big deal, I sent them 440 bolts. Now my debate is what I should do to the inner barrel, I am debating on either Cerakote or Powdercoating them. Cerakote is a really nice finish but i believe its a bit more pricey than powder.
  16. times changed, thats life, get on the track.
  17. iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiits shark week. and that car is a piece of shit, my grandparents had one, transmission started eating itself at about 110,000. I will never buy a GM product. And they are most definitely worse to work on than a subaru and even worse engineered. And more education doesnt mean more money, it doesnt even mean you will end up doing what you went to school for. And there is a huge loss of skilled labor that we are not helping by pushing every moron to go to college. Some people should not go to college, period.
  18. sick shit steve!! Do you restore them for your own collection or do you sell them?
  19. A true pissing enthusiast can enjoy and be good at both.
  20. I am also a pissing enthusiast, why do you think I entered this thread in the first place?
