  1. To get all the rust fixed with new metal patches. 400. That's both hind rockers and fender work. Plus spots here and there.
  2. Dropped off my Datsun at the body shop :-)
  3. Update. Found a buyer off ratsun. Other guy doesn't want to use PayPal. I imagine that his goal is to "buy" wheels from out of town and then resell them. Since I don't have his name or anything it makes it hard for him to be tracked. The Google number is probably a throwaway.
  4. I have 13 inch libres but they are zero offset so they are too wide plus I think 13s look rather small. I think something a little bit bigger will do quite nicely. I might go with the 16inch rpf1s since they are only about 9 pounds. The problem is that they are a high offset wheel. But I thought this could turn into a pretty comprehensive list of good light wheels that can be found for let's say under a grand.
  5. No I have a l20b with mikuni carbs but still every pound makes a difference in the feel of the car. Especially in the wheels since the amount of power isn't that high
  6. They don't come in the right bolt pattern
  7. I thought you had to be a lil cheap to own a Datsun
  8. As a newb I have no clue what's going on in this thread but it makes me worry that I'm going to have acceleration problems since I'm putting in a l20b. But I'm running 44mm mikuni solex
  9. Actually its 1675 shipped from Togue Factory
  10. The RPF1s are 4x100 so they are out. Called Togue factory and they recommended Work CR01. They look perfect plus they are only 13-14 pounds which isnt that bad. plus they come in a lot of sizes and offsets.
  11. Worked on removing old undercoat and spraying down new stuff plus put in new front struts
  12. I am putting together my 510 and have run into the issue of wheels. I have a set of 13x7 libres but they are too wide to fit under the fenders. I want to run 15x7s with probably about 25mm offset. Now I'm looking for the lightest wheels possible. I can't afford to spend 3 grand on some magnesium wheels unless someone has a source for much cheaper. Every pound counts, especially in the wheels and tires. I like the ROTA grid classic but have no clue if it comes in the right size and bolt pattern. Any suggestions?
  13. Got some more work done. Itll be going into a shop for body work this week. Working on undercoating everything. Put in new front suspension parts Going with a goldish orange color. Trying to figure out what wheels I can run with the new suspension
  14. Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity- Bullet Tooth Tony
  15. He responded to a CL ad I put up. Hes not on the forum.
  16. Yea the guy is still talking to me and possibly getting a paypal account... Thats still to be determined. But Paypal is probably the most secure and easiest way to buy and sell things online. It protects the buyer from a lying seller and protects a seller from a fraudulent buyer
  17. Yea but if its a scam, not only will I have lost my wheels, but if I spent any of the money that was given to me I would have to return it. There are loopholes in everything.
  18. Yea I texted the guy and told him that I will only accept paypal. I think he suddenly doesn't want them anymore. :frantics:
  19. Well thats not quite right. If I put a cashiers check into my account, they have to make the money available to me in a certain amount of time (1 day) but that doesn't mean the money has cleared. And why all the secrecy? Dude is calling me from a restricted number? Telling me to let him know as soon as the money clears so he can have some mover pick them up from me. Why? So I dont know who he is or where he is? Alarm bells are ringing in my ears
  20. More notably he says he is sending a Cashiers check, not a personal check. I feel like this is an attempt to totally hustle me
  21. I put a set of libres I put on for sale here on the classifieds and on Craigslist. I got a text from someone who was interested but needed them shipped. Now it gets weird. Instead of using PayPal the guy says he's just sending me a check. When I try to call the guy the voice mail responds "the Google subscriber is currently unavailable". I have yet to ever hear a voice mail box like that. When I text back that I feel uncomfortable the guy calls me from a restricted number and tells me that the check is coming in a heavy accent. Am I just being paranoid or what?
