Yea but I want something that bolts directly in, without a bunch of modification. If 240z seats work I may just go with that...

I have been looking into reupholstering my seats and its pretty price. I don't know if its worth it because I feel like the stock seats won't hold me from sliding all over the place on them. Is there something else out there besides racing seats because that's not the look I'm going for. Will older BMW seats work? Secondly, I'm feeling around the idea of turboing the car. I have higher compression pistons, NAPZ (10:1) and racing (12:1) and brand new gaskets and such. I have 3 sets of carbs: the original SUs, 44mm (I think) Webers, and 44mm Solexs. So its not like I'm considering it on a tired old engine. But I havent seen any kits online or anything. Does anyone have one for sale thats more of a bolt on unit or can someone point me in the right direction? Finally A/c. I have one of the wider A/C units that I wanted to use in the car. I have the FSMs for the car and the engine, but none of them have diagrams on how to set the A/C up. Does anyone have the diagram or pictures of their install?

Had some good progress on teardown today. Hopefully will be done by the end of tomorrow. I don't have keys for it so I'm wondering how to get into the trunk... Also if anyone has some good tips for washing the headliner that would be much appreciated because its white and has some pretty bad discoloration.

In contact with the guy in Australia that makes patches for Datsuns, he might be the answer to what I am looking for.

Ok second question is why are the 2 horn buttons different for the SSS wheels. This gives me hope that my Po has a SSS grille stashed away as well. I know I should be getting some more SSS trim like side vents soon

I have a 2 door and I need a patch for that area right behind the door to the wheel arch. After research I learned that the Alfa reproductions are not very good so anyone have any other options? I need to include part of the flare in the patch. I heard the Aussies might be doing it but I havent seen anything from them yet.

Made a mistake on the pistons, the are z20s not z20e pistons because they are dished.

Thanks for the bump Joe. I also have a Datsun AC unit that only the dealership could install in pretty good condition. Not willing to ship that.

I introduced myself last week, I have a 1970 2 door dime. Just starting my build but I thought this would be a good way to document everything I do. I was very fortunate with all the incredible parts that have come with the car, with more still to come. The guy that I bought the 510 from used to race and has amassed many rare NOS parts. I just have to do the assembly. My powerplant is a l20b with z20e NAPZ pistons and my choice between a Solex and Weber carb. Going to be running a 5 speed from a Z car and a LSD. There are more suspension parts to come but currently have a bunch of KYB struts and shocks. The interior is so nice its a shame I have to take it out to strip the metal for new paint. I have a for sale thread with a whole bunch of parts that I currently have many extras. I'll post pictures once i start work.

So finally started getting parts and am feeling a little overwhelmed. Heres the stack of parts, thats only about half of everything These I wanna use as the rears, wonder if I can make them fit lol

Here are pictures of everything I can reach right now. For sale are 4 z20e NAPZ pistons like the one on the top. New one on the bottom is for comparison. These pistons a a little different than the stock l20b ones. $100 for set of 4 Length compared to a stock piston. Several seats, including a racing seat. Several of this style side mirror $30 a pair brand new air filter for carbs, might keep these, still sealed in box $250 A pair of these rear drums from a 240z, were media blasted recently $75 This glove box $50 A Datsun formula exhaust $50 And this steering column $75 Thats all for now, I will post more as I feel more comfortable letting things go. As you can tell I cant get to everything right now and some things I may have put in my first post I may hold on to until I am a bit further along in my build. Priority goes to local first, as I would rather not ship because I had a bad experience shipping some Land Cruiser parts a while back.
