  1. Still not getting it. For whatever picture you want to display, look at the right and grab the image code... it has [ IMG ] at the start of it.
  2. Yeah I can see why it was recovered. Seeing this pad, Im thinking I might use the pad from my current dash with the rest of these parts... Mine only has a few cracks. I did receive the new dash cap today. It fits really well, high quality, and came fast in the mail. Ill snap a picture of that in a minute.
  3. Pulled off the vinyl top off: Pulled the padding off the top of the dash pad and under the vinyl: Heres the OEM dash... wicked cracked:
  4. Anyone know where to pick up new ones? Id like to use new pieces when I put the dash back together.
  5. I guess I should elaborate. I didnt quite mean sell every part on the car... Id follow up with Hobbes and find something clean and move all your shit over.
  6. Im sure a new front could be put back on the thing... Ive seen it done too. I just think that with the amount of damage and the fact that all this effort will cost out of pocket because theres a chance that insurance wont pay up, that IMHO it would be smarter to just part this car and make some cash back, then buy a decent 510 in the area and start again. That will save you from all the headache that is grafting on a new front as well as take car of any of the issues that this car had. You can start fresh. If youre going to spend the time and money out of pocket, Id rather spend it on a non-wrecked 510 than one that is. With the amount of damage, even if insurance pays you, its still going to be a savaged title. Theres way too much damage not to be.
  7. Well that's not good... With no money coming your way, it might be smart to part this one and pick up another 510. Grafting a whole new front on could get expensive due to how extensive this one would have to be.
  8. I don't see why I couldn't drill new holes in my upper firewall to accommodate the new arms.
  9. NOS vents came in. I just ordered LEDs to refresh the cluster. Dash disassembly has continued.
  10. Ok... here is the info for the '68/'69 guys who want to replace their bulbs with LEDs. There are 8 total LEDs needed: (4) Red (4) Green (unless you want to change from the stock color) I just purchased (5) red and (5) green and (10) twist sockets to update the cluster. Shipped it cost me $52 after a 5% coupon code (RET71). Ill update with more pictures once the LEDs arrive and I can install them with the rest of the dash restore.
  11. There are a lot of screws and such... I think that if there wasnt as much corrosion and dirt, it would go a little quicker.
  12. Basically everything exploded all over my living room:
  13. Pictures as promised: Dash harness Passenger-side of metal frame (you can see the stamp out that looks like the drivers side for the fascia) Drivers-side of metal frame (compared it to the passenger-side) Pad off (was recovered due to horrible cracking) Metal frame
  14. That may be good for the '70+ cars, but the '68/'69 dashes are mostly metal which you wouldnt flock. The dash pad is plastic and theres plastic inserts on the front lower, but the rest is metal which I will be powdercoating. Pictures are uploading right now. It is a little tedious as Ive taken out like 60 screws and undone like 15 clips. Still have more to go.
  15. More disassembly tonight. Good thing I took my time taking apart the dash... I tried prying off the dash fascia pads for a second only to realize that they are bolted on. Luckily I stopped almost right away before I did any damage. Pads are in great condition and will not need to be painted. A good cleaning is in order still. The plastic frames around the vents were broken in a few spots so I just snapped them off rather than deal with the clips in the back. Ill have to look at the ones on my current dash to see if they are uncracked... otherwise I will have to buy a new set. Ive noticed that there is a stamped out section behind the passenger fascia pad. Its the same shape as the drivers side which is stamped out for a switch. Has anyone seen a LHD model with something in the passenger side fascia area? Ive also taken about 40 pictures to make sure I remember how things go together.

    SOLD!!

Uuuuuh I know its been awhile since you posted this, but I saw a video where Jay Leno was playing with Hotwheels. Ill pay twice the value, but I only want a blue one, sealed package, no bends in the card, and I want it only purchased out of Walmart. Still for sale?
  17. You can always look at the civic half radiators... if you pick up a quality piece, the thinner ones cool more than youd think and are a small size. I used to run one on a turbo DSM so Im sure you can manage with one.
  18. Added and removed a few items...
  19. Yeah the owner just picked up a 240sx so he might have some parts laying around the shop.
  20. Anyway, back to the thread... Spotted this (well I heard it first) while I was in the drive thru for Jack In the Box. All I could hear was some car doing like 100mph and every screw rattling loose from "mad bass." Then I see that its this car and it was doing like 5mph but the exhaust on it made it sound ridiculous. As it turned into the spot, it had one purple HID and one pink HID. You can see the green lipped rims. It had a drift charm that I couldnt make out as I drove by. Was more aurally obnoxious than anything.
  21. I think their hours have changed a bit so I would call them or send them a message on FB asking before you show up. Let David know I sent you and if he can help he will.
  22. June 8th/9th. Its always the second weekend in June.
  23. Whatever it is, it looks stupid.
