  1. Both just on width will fit fine. Its all about the offset.
  2. Yeah there is a minor bit of surface rust on the rear passenger side, but I can scrape it off with my nail. I was worried about their condition after the flooding fiasco. But they look great! More pictures tomorrow as I do more work. It looks like they were for the radio and some aftermarket speakers that the PO installed but did not include when I purchased it. Its a smaller, cheaper wire. That blue one Im unsure of though. Its about the size as stock wiring. Everything working in the car though, so I dont know what the extra wire would be for. Weird. Here is one last photo. Here is Connie (my girlfriend) helping bring in some car parts for the night:
  3. Thats a good rule, but not a requirement. I have 15x 7J +10 in the front and they clear fine. For 7J thats as positive as you should go; I would recommend at least 0 on a 7J though... will make your life easier. Datmo, like Q said though the hub face is .75in closer to the strut tube so take that into account if youre choosing rims now and want to run them on 280zx struts later.
  4. Phew... tomorrow Im going to get up early and clean out the inside and get it ready for installation of all new parts. I still need to pick up a few items (sound deadener and padding) to complete the job. Then I have to head on down to Olympia and snag the refinished dash parts from JRocks shop which should give me a few more hours to get them in before the sun goes down. I dont have a lighted area to work in the dark :( I also found out that the last key dash items Ive been on the hunt for have been secured and will be shipping this weekend. Stay tuned once though show up ;) Whats everyone using for vinyl cleaner? Id like to clean my door cards as well as dirty front seat... what wont bleach the shit out of the old vinyl? Im also hoping to get my mirrors installed this week, but who knows if that will happen.
  5. Today was full of so much work... and I have another day of it tomorrow. Here is what took place: I started to disassemble the dash to prepare for picking up the refinished one tomorrow after noon: Convenient nut and bolt holder: This is how dirty it is inside the dash: Random wires that go to nothing and wrapped around other things: Old radio harness can come out: Dash finally out. Took me 2hrs... Removed all the heater plastic and will be cleaning that as well. I wish I had time to refinish the heater assembly, but there just isnt time right now. Eventually I get it out, swap in a newer fan and clean the core. Until then, clean plastic will suffice: Removed the front seats in preparation for the new carpet I bought: Even with the inch or more of standing water over the Winter due to a leaking firewall, no rust. I was going to seam seal the whole floor and use some sound deadener, but I dont really think the sealer would do much good. Im just going to pick up some sound deadener tomorrow and lay it down before the carpet: New carpet next to old carpet (obviously not the same color, but IRL the new isnt as bright as that):
  6. I like how Ratwagon is the only one who posts these threads... he doesnt even live close to us. He made the Hurrican Sandy thread, Boston, and now Waco. We love you down there RW. Cheers
  7. Yeah, heat gun should do the trick... let me know if you need one. I have one in the garage.
  8. Too bad youre not closer... I have a complete setup.
  9. The dash is vinyl fabric. I messaged him yesterday about it... Not the OEM pad.
  10. Tore out my dash, carpet, and seats... now to clean, deaden, and install everything back. Only taking a small break; ton of work to do still.
  11. Interesting. With all the research Ive done, Ive never come across that distinction before. I was looking into early Corollas prior to picking up the 510. Well, learn something new everyday and I apologize for the incorrect correction I made earlier. I owe you a beverage of choice next time we see each other :D
  12. I guess there are rare cases where they are different, but 70+ should be 14mm. Maybe at some point someone swapped your control arms to early units John.
  13. You want the larger 14mm. The smaller ones are '68/'69 ball joints.
  14. Yeah, this is currently the only 710 I like. I would have seriously considered it if it was closer.
  15. Other than the seats, thats a pretty clean interior!
  16. Big shout out to Jrock for the quality work on these metal dash pieces. He always comes through  Now I just have to install them. Time to take apart the dash!- the work begins.

  18. Definitely looks clean. I love the yellow and stripes... Good luck with the sale.
  19. How bad? I couldnt go over 35 without the car violently shaking... it would no longer be classified as a vibration at the point.
  20. I thought that could be a possibility, but the reviews are darastically different and the pictures of the joint centers are different as well. Only thing I saw they had in common was the red rubber seals. Hopefully, I wont have these longer than a year and upgrade to CVs before these decide to grenade on me
  21. The ones we picked up werent. They were Duralast and not Brute Force.
  22. Being that you only have one post, it would make life easier here if you just posted the pictures for everyone to see right away... it would help trying to sell. GLWS.
