Blinking Side Lights/Front Turn Signals

Recommended Posts

My 71 510 has blinking side lights, except the front parking lights will not blink. The side marker lights blink when I turn on the turn signal, but dont light up with the parking lights on. The front parking lights work but the turn signals dont work.

Anybody had these problems before.

Here's how to wire them up but ignore the wire colors on it.

The signal wire for the front right or left turn is the Green/Black stripe wire. Connect the side marker Black (ground) wire to that. The back markers can be wired up too.

Bleach... the flashing side marker lights were used on the 510 outside Canada and US.

I wired up my 510 to have side marker blink.

It alternates between the front marker to side marker.

very simple to do.

A write was done from DQ a while back.

It increases visibility to your ride.

Will be doing the same to my 521 soon.

I would post here but there's thing called copy rights.

Unless DQ editor is on this list and ok with it.

On the driver side front turn signal/parking light the filament for the turn signal and parking light is on at the same time. Any clue whats up with that?

On the rewire Datzen mike desc. do I put a Jumper from side light black ground? or do I cut and leave the black disconected from the side marker light.

thanks,
