Farmer Joe
so i read in my clymer datsun book about the load sensing valve. it kind of explains what it does, and i want to eliminate it from the braking system. i dont haul super heavy load anymore. and the bleeders on it are stuck, so i can really get a good bleed on my brakes. so could i remove this thing? then get some brake line couplers and some line and re-plumb it? thanks Quote Link to comment
Skib
Can you replace it with a different one? I would think you should still need some break bias, maybe one from a car or something so you have a more "normal" bias? Quote Link to comment
jesusno2
Huh I don't think I've seen one one a datto. I know toyota 4x4's use them we always just put a T in its place cause they get all screwey with lift kits Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It's on the inside of the frame under the pass seat. I think you will find that if you eliminate it the rears will lock easier than with it. Because my truck is raised about 16" I get extreme weight transfer to the front resulting in rear lock up under even moderate braking... worse in the rain. I installed an adjustable proportioning valve and now the front and rears more or less lock together on dry pavement. Best $50 I've spent. Quote Link to comment
Farmer Joe
alright then. so i can eliminate it from the system without any horrible adverse effects. i think when i get my taxes back, and when rebuild my brakes im gonna get rid of this thing. my back brakes dont hardly work well enough to lock up the tires. that and the truck is lowered quite a bit too. it just squats in the front when i brake. theres no nose diving action or anthing like that.
