heater motor

Hi guys,

My 71 521s heater dosen't blow (and that sucks) Checked the fuse and it's OK, pulled the glove box out and pulled the switch and checked it its good with power to all the terminals with the switch in the proper positions, pulled the front off of the heater box and cleaned out all the acorns and leaves that the local vermin left in there and discovered that the resistor is kind of beat up with no power so now I think I have to pull the heater out just to get to the resistor. Any suggestions on the best way to fix this problem? I really need a heater/ defroster where I live.

That would be for a 620 but same basic idea. Even if the resistor coil is bad, you should still have HI speed. Usually power goes to the motor and the other side goes through the switch to ground HI, or throught the switch then through the resistor to ground LOW.
