Roman Tasel
I have an automatic trans. on my 620. It stay running in park, but when i shift it, it jumps like it would jump if it were a clutch, then dies. It idles weird, so i dont know if it is the carb or transmission. Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
What happens if you give it a little throttle while you put it in drive? The auto's add load if its idling low it could die, it shouldn't jump though. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
It's unlikely the transmission when in P or N could cause a bad idle. Fix the idle problem first, then see what else needs to be done. Most often, idle problems are due to vacuum leaks -- or somebody fiddled with the idle curb speed screw and idle mixture screw. Yeah if your truck is idling at 3000rpm it will lunge and stall. Fix the idle issue. Quote Link to comment
