Nissan_Boy85
I can't seem to find a diagram to wire in the battery voltage and oil preesure gauges. Yes, I yanked them out of a 4x4 and put them in mine. All thats left is to wire them up and maybe buy the sending units. Thanks for the help. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
what years are we talking about? Gauges from 1978 620 to another 1978 620? Then the factory harness should already have connectors for the gauges. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
First the sending unit. Besides the Yellow/Green wire that gives the RED warning light on the dash for low oil pressure, the 4X4 sender also has a second Yellow/Blue wire for the pressure gauge by the shifter. Go to a wrecking yard and remove the sender and get the plug and 6" wiring so you can splice into it. To remove the sender, use a 12mm or 1/2" wrench down behind it where it screws into the block. Loosen it first, do NOT twist it loose by hand. The two wire plug is arranged in a T. The bottom (I) part is for the stock Yellow/Green RED warning light. The top (-) Yellow/Blue for gauge, any color can be used to connect it up to your Yellow/Blue wire at the gauge. While getting the 4X4 sender and plug, get the wire harness plug that connects to your plugs on your gauges. Get enough wire for proper and easy splicing into your harness. This will allow you to disconnect your gauges for console removal. The wiring at the gauges are thus: Black: this goes to ground. Possibly there is a black ground wire nearby if not a good connection to the dash metal. Red/Blue and Red/Yellow: wires are for the gauge illumination. You could probably wire into the bulbs that illuminate the heater controls nearby. Using these wires will allow the gauge lights to be dimmed by the dimmer switch. Yellow/Blue: from the sender in the engine block for oil gauge. Yellow/Red: power from fuse box. Powers the oil gauge and provides a 12 volt signal for the volt gauge to read. Any 12 volt supply from a ignition switched source will work. Quote Link to comment
