NewDirection
Hello everyone, I recently had my '78 B210 repainted, which included removing the little grill thing where the windshield meets the hood. No interior wiring was touched as far as I know. Now the AM only radio won't tune in to any radio stations. It turns on, the volume works as it should, the speaker produces static only but it doesn't pick up any stations anywhere on the AM spectrum. Any thoughts on where I might start lookign for the issue? It was working perfectly fine before the car went in for painting. Quote Link to comment
NewDirection
That's what I fiured as well, any idea where it connects? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Cowl, it's called the cowl. Below it, where the wiper arms are, is the plenum. Antenna plugs into an extension cable coming out of the left rear side. If it was pulled on it may have lost contact. The antenna is mounted on the A pillar, was it removed? to paint? pidge
Looking at your “paint”pics it looks like the antenna is missing when it was painted. I’d poke around the mounting location and see if the wire is still attached. -Pidge 1 Quote Link to comment
NewDirection
Thanks Mike and Pidge. Pidge by "poke around" I assume you mean remove the antenna and see if there's still a wire attached, yes? Quote Link to comment
NewDirection
Fixed now, they had simply not plugged the antenna cable back into the radio. Under the dash, took 5 minutes. Quote Link to comment
