They do them for the Anglia panels, Morris Minors and such, and most companies that make them can do them to any width you want.  That is likely to cost a few bucks, I imagine.  I also know a lot of the US guys that do hot rods out of the British cars often buy an S10 chassis, and shorten them down. 

 

Not sure what your end goal is, but I personally like small cars with big motors..

I have seen 1 person do  mustang 2 control arms on his 520.... remember you'll have 2 different bolt patterns now so you'll have to correct the rear....

If doing a motor swap also could you purchase a cross member with control arms to graft in....

Seems doable.... just need some measurements to see what crossmember might work.....
