wivrrat
I'm having trouble with my 83 720 4x4 pickup. When I start the truck it idles fine. After driving it a distance, the idle picks up. I called the shop where I got the carb 5 years ago. Original 720 carb. They asked if I had air conditioning. I told them I just got the AC charged and working, but I seldom use it. He said to remove the AC pod (flying saucer looking part). He said it is running it high to compensate the AC. Today it started fine. I drove about a 1/2 hour and the idle was high when I stopped. Later on after a few more stops, I turned on the AC and drove home. When I got home, the engine was racing. After I let it cool down, I started it and it was idling normal?????? I'm not sure which is the AC pod and how to disconnect it. Thx Quote Link to comment

Thomas Perkins
Make sure your hose did not come off the idle up actuator.Mine would come off long time ago when I had a Nissan carb. Will cause it to idle bad. Quote Link to comment
