510SIL
Have a 1963 320 pickup. Pretty good body, great bed, all trim and bumpers there, no engine or trans. Been sitting for a loooong time. Since it has no drive train is there a good engine trans swap option for this year? Something with an overdrive? A swap that isn't a major reworking under the hood to make it fit? OR Am I better off looking for the original (E1I think?) setup? OR Selling it as is. 1 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Welcome. Wondering if a single cam KA would fit in that engine bay. You may be able to find a runner E series though through the classifieds. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Now for sale.... Maybe an A series? I think the E1 morphed into the J and the A series. 1 Quote Link to comment

510SIL
I read some where that the J13 is a swap that would work? My son in law is the one that know Datsuns. His first car was a 510 that he still has (mostly autocross car now) after 20 years. This was maybe going to be a project he would do to daily drive and get rid of the 80s Toyota pickup he has had for years. 1 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
I agree Mike, an A-series would be a good option. The older motors are getting harder to find, but there are some guys swapping in newer motors into there J series 520's and 521's. You might be able to find a runner. 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
If you put an A series in your 320 you need to use a 521 idler arm in the 320, the oil filter is in the way of the stock idler arm. It is not in anyway a bolt in, you need to make engine/transmission mounts, but if it was easy everyone would do it. 3 Quote Link to comment
