meji-nasty
Anyone know where I can get the connector to This? https://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/1980/nissan/720/body_electrical/engine_coolant_temperature_switch.html 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Water temperature sender or sensor. Auto supply store. Ask for a bullet connector and use the female side (top right above) of the two halves. These just crimp onto your Wellow/Whiter stripe sender wire. 1 Quote Link to comment
meji-nasty
No it's for the coolant temperature switch I added the link 1 Quote Link to comment
meji-nasty
I bough the switch but it didn't come with a Connector and I can't find it anywhere.... 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Trust me it's actually a sender or sensor with variable resistance for the gauge. A switch is just on or off. It says switch but it isn't. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The temp gauge wire is Yellow/White stripe and should be near the thermostat housing. One of those bullet connectors should work if you crimp it on the end. 1 Quote Link to comment
meji-nasty
Hmmm ok is just there's a whole on the motor now that needs to get plugged where the coolant started to leak out when I unscrewed the little bullet switch... So it figure in have to screw the new over back on right? Otherwise the coolant will continue to leak? 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Was the old one not working? Why the new one??? Of course it will leak where the old sender was till you put the new one in. 1 Quote Link to comment
meji-nasty
Yeah the old one wasn't working... the truck reads as always running cold.... Everything else on my dashboard reads correctly... I'll take some pics of what im talking about... because I dont think im following ... the part you sent is simple enough but doesnt solve the leak that will continue because it doestnt seem to have the bolt that goes in to the motor to plug it. .... I have a sender that is identical to the original just doesnt come with the bolt to screw into the engine... 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Ground the Yellow/White sensor wire with the key ON. Gauge should read full HOT. If not the gauge is bad or the wire broke between sender and gauge. Yes, it's like an adapter. Sender screws into that and it screws into the housing. Where's the one that was in there??? 1 Quote Link to comment
meji-nasty
It's i cant get it off the original sender.... Is there some kind of trick to getting it to come off or brute strength? 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Did you ground the Yellow/White wire to make sure it isn't the gauge or wiring that may be the problem???? 1 Quote Link to comment
