At the sensor, ground the wire going to it. The gauge, if working, should read full HOT. If it does then the sensor is bad or the contact between it and the wire.

 

If the gauge does not move it could be the wire back to the gauge is broken or the gauge no good.

Should be able to get that at just about any parts store....

First I would disconnect the wire from the sender and ground it ... that should make to gauge move to full hot... could be as simple as a corroded connection...

 

Also be careful .... some senders just screw in while another style has no threads but uses a nut to secure it...

You'll need a picture hosting site like imgur, but there are lots of others that are free and have other options. DO NOT use Photobucket. Load and save your pictures there. When you need them go an retrieve the picture information bring here and insert into your post.
