olskool720
Hi All, I coach boys' soccer at Golden Valley HS in Merced. We are hosting our second annual car show fundraiser to benefit the boys' soccer program. Proceeds will help with gear, equipment, and apparel. Entry fee is only $20. Any vehicle with wheels is accepted. Dash plaques to the first 50 vehicles. Roll in will be as early as 8am, judging begins at 12pm with awards around 1:30. A concession stand will be available. Some raffle prizes as well will be available to win. Last year, we had over 50 vehicles. Location is Joe Herb Park at 2248 Yosemite Parkway in Merced. Date is Sunday, November 10th. I hope that you'll come up or down to Merced and show off your vehicle. Contact Lance at ebermerced@aol.com if you have any questions or want to donate a raffle prize or want to set up a vendor booth. Quote Link to comment

olskool720
Went from 55 vehicles in 2018 to only 23 in 2019 ☹️ I thought a fundraiser for kids would be a no brainer. I guess that I just got lucky last year. Perfect weather? Check, had it. Not a cloud in sight this day. Food options? Check, had them. Taco truck and concession stand. Low entry fee? Check, only $20 plus online preregistration. Dash plaques? Check, had them for the first 50 entries. Awards? Yep, 15 different awards. Location? Yep, less than a mile from Hwy 99 and the park had trees and grass and even a playground and clean restrooms. Oh well. Maybe next year will be better. Quote Link to comment

I did get one car show that showed up from Bakersfield (2.5 hr drive). They saw it on EventBrite and said "we've never been to Merced, let's ride." Got another one from Lemoore (1.5hr drive). Their car got best of show...a RHD Jaguar. Definitely was hoping for some local draw. I even avoided the Turlock Swap Meet this year which is 25 miles away, so the conditions were ripe for a big turnout. Meh, hopefully next year. Quote Link to comment
